JUNG-HO-PAK, CONDUCTOR
PETER SCHICKELE, SPECIAL GUEST STAR
MARGOT ROOD, SOPRANO | KARA CORNELL, MEZZO SOPRANO
Have a blast at this New Year’s Day bash. Our parties are legendary. So are our guests. This year, meet the master of music and the king of comedy. That’s right, Peter Schickele, most famous for his dubious “discovery” of P.D.Q. Bach (the illegitimate and surprisingly untalented son of J.S. Bach), is crashing the party and bringing down the house with his side-splitting parodies of classical music – like the 1712 Overture (much better with slide whistles and kazoos than noisy ol’ canons). He’s grabbed onto Grammies, shared laughs (and the stage) with the great Itzhak Perlman and turned the entire classical world on its very musical ear for over half a century. So hang on to your seats, because your very own orchestra and two versatile vocalists will also help paint the town red on this red letter day with Viennese waltzes, unforgettable arias and big Broadway hits.
