The mission of the Higgins Art Gallery is to promote the educational benefits of the visual arts, to increase student awareness of local and regional artists, and to involve the entire community in an on-going celebration of Cape Cod’s role in the visual arts.

Our History

The Higgins Art Gallery is a professionally equipped visual arts exhibition facility located in the Tilden Art Center on the West Barnstable Campus of Cape Cod Community College (CCCC). Initially proposed in 1988 at a CCCC strategic planning retreat, the Gallery became a reality in 1989 through a gift from the Sentry Federal Bank. Since then, the Gallery has staged exhibits representing over 500 professional and 600 student artists for an estimated 15,000 visitors.

Our Services and Programs

There are 7 exhibits a year, 2 of the 7 are Artist in Residence, one

is Women Creating, and another one is a Faculty Student Exhibit. The other exhibits showcase contemporary art in and around southeastern Mass area.
