Welcome to a Newly Redesigned Arts Cape Cod
Six years ago, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod launched Arts Cape Cod as a way to connect audiences to the abundance of cultural attractions in our region.
This 65-mile stretch of land boasts nearly 300 arts and cultural organizations, thousands of working artists, over 600 collections, and thousands of events that make our region such a vibrant place throughout the year. Nothing has shined a light on the importance of the Cape’s creative sector more than the pandemic.
The loss of live, in-person events in 2020 has left a void that no virtual event can ever replace. Nothing can compare to a summer concert at the Beachcomber, a timeless classic being performed at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, or the inspirational sounds of the Cape Symphony to usher in the holiday season.
While so many local artists and institutions have successfully adapted and pivoted to continue entertaining, inspiring, and connecting us over the past nine months, we know the Cape’s creative sector is hurting.
That is why we’ve worked diligently to redesign our Arts Cape Cod website this year to make it more modern, accessible, mobile friendly, and to continue serving as a go-to site for artists and organizations to promote their events and products to a larger audience.
While it’s the beaches and natural beauty that draw people to the Cape throughout the year, it’s the arts that give our region substance, meaning, and vitality. Through Arts Cape Cod, we’re able to celebrate the life-affirming power our creative economy has on us as individuals and a community.
Who Can Use Art Cape Cod?
The short answer to this question is anyone! Arts Cape Cod is for our members as well as cultural nonprofits, artists, businesses, organizations, community groups, and individuals who are hosting, organizing, performing in, or leading any artistic or cultural event or workshop that takes place in Barnstable County.
Through this website, our weekly It’s On! emails, and our Facebook page, you have the ability to reach thousands of additional eyeballs and raise awareness to your creative endeavor, whatever it may be.
With a new marketplace (coming soon!), artists will soon have a chance to sell their work through Arts Cape Cod.
And our new blog will serve as a vehicle to showcase the unique opportunities tourists and year-round residents have to immerse themselves in the arts.
No matter who you are, I encourage you to utilize this community resource and let visitors to Arts Cape Cod know the breadth of creativity that exists in our region.
May we all continue to show the Cape’s arts and culture scene the love it needs and deserves to make it through the other side of this crisis.
