One hundred years ago in 1920 the British government introduced the "Government of Ireland Act"; an act that is known colloquially as "The Partition Act".
It was introduced in the middle of the Irish War of Independence (1919 - 1921).
The Act provided for the establishment of a Parliament of Northern Ireland and a Parliament for Southern Ireland. A Council of Ireland was envisaged to co-ordinate matters of common concern to the two parliaments.

The Center's main parking lot is at the rear of the campus off Union Street, with overflow parking in the town lot on the corner of Old Main and Union Street or down Mill Street. The accessible parking spaces are near the accessible ramp entrance at the rear of the campus.
