The Music of Cole Porter & Johnny Mercer

Featuring vocalists Robert “Doc” Raylove & Rebecca Parris with Paul McWilliams (piano), Ron Ormsby (bass), Bart Weisman (drums). Robert performs in two different formats: as a Jazz singer with a trio or quartet, and as a solo singer with guitar, performing soft rock, folk and blues. His gigs include playing bass as a band member with Peter Criss (KISS); playing drums, harmonica with Buddy Guy, drums for Chuck Berry, opening for Cream (Eric Clapton), Janis Joplin, Steve Miller, Jimmy Hendrix, The Young Rascals and The Blues Project. Rebecca Parris is a Grammy nominated jazz artist and she started performing professionally at the age of six in summer stock theatre with her father, Ned MacCloskey, a sought after character actor. Her career has led her into many genres of music and landed her in Jazz where she says she has the arena to use all of her musical schooling. She studied voice from age eight with her uncle, the renowned voice teacher and therapist, David Blair McCloskey, and attended the Boston Conservatory in Applied Studies. Rebecca spent several years as a pop artist in NYC and Boston and since then she has toured the globe extensively and appeared with such luminaries as Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Williams, The Count Basie Orchestra, Buddy Rich and Gary Burton. Sarah Vaughan was a champion of hers as was Carmen MacRae. Rebecca is a Master Clinician and teaches at home and at universities here and overseas.
