Talk & Tour: The Wonders of Dr. Yale's Workshop

As part of the Woods Hole Historical Museum’s “Conversation” series and as part of ArtWeek, Laura Reckford, chair of the Steering Committee of the Woods Hole Historical Museum, presents “The Wonders of Dr. Yale’s Workshop,” an overview of a sometimes overlooked part of the Museum’s permanent collection.

Dr. Yale’s workshop, circa 1892, recreates the domain of a 19th century Renaissance man who summered in Quissett. His hobbies of fishing, fly-tying, photography and etching are all represented in the collection. Parts of the collection will be shown at the talk. After the talk at the Woods Hole Library, the speaker will lead the group next door to the Yale Workshop on the grounds of the Woods Hole Historical Museum for an insider’s tour of the collection.

This talk is on Tuesday, April 30, at 12:30 at the Woods Hole Library.

After the talk, there will be a tour of the Yale Workshop next door on the grounds of the Woods Hole Historical Museum. The Woods Hole Library is located at 581 Woods Hole Road, Woods Hole.
