Who doesn’t like to hit a drum? Playing the steel drum, also known as playing pan and requires no musical experience. Producing a note in a pan is easy, and the reward is immediate! If you can tap your toe, you can play. In this two-hour workshop, you will learn a brief history of the steel drum, its Caribbean roots and social significance. Using visual and aural techniques rather than reading from music, we will play and work together to create beautiful calypso music.
