Snow Library Common Threads Discussion Group

Saturday, April 28 • 1:00pm – 3:00pm Mass Poetry Common Threads Discussion Group

Take part in a Common Threads discussion group hosted by Mass Poetry Regional Representative Barry Hellman. Hosting the session with him will be Kaimi Rose Lum, Associate Director of Snow Library.

Barry Hellman is a clinical psychologist whose poems have appeared in numerous literary journals, anthologies, and The King of Newark published by Finishing Line Press. He founded, curates, and hosts the Cape Cod Poetry Group Poetry & Music Series, and conducts workshops on the art, craft, and performance of poetry. He is an advisor to WCAI’s Poetry Sunday with Mindy Todd, and a Cape Cod Regional Representative for the Mass. Poetry Outreach Program in Boston.

Kaimi Rose Lum is a journalist, librarian and poet. She currently serves as Assistant Director at Snow Library, where she is working to promote the reading and discussion of poetry through collecting, programming, and a Poets’ Corner project that highlights a different poet every month. She is the recipient of two New England Press Association awards for her writing and was a finalist in the Cultural Center of Cape Cod’s Poetry Competition and the Joe Gouveia Outermost Poetry Contest.

The discussion group is designed so that participants engage with a few poems in an easy comfortable manner, hear others read them aloud, discuss why and where they connect with them, and how they are crafted and have their effect.
