PORTRAIT STUDIO LIGHTING – PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE BIG UMBRELLA WORKSHOP WITH DAVE MULLEN

How do those images in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar come into being? In this workshop we’ll learn to use various studio lighting setups to create unique portraits. Using studio strobes, we’ll learn to find and adjust the right power settings for your vision and use a variety of modifiers to control the light. Hard and soft lighting modifiers, as well as off-camera small flash options, will be explored. Participants can bring their own model (ie, a patient family member), or we will serve as models for each other as we go through a variety of lighting looks. In addition to looking at the work of some masters, we’ll discuss the wide variety of studio lighting options available, and a list of resources will be provided. Participants will have the option of shooting tethered to a laptop and doing some basic editing and will leave with a series of images to add to their portfolio. This class is for those shooting with dSLR or Mirrorless cameras with a hotshoe for flash or a remote trigger (provided). Materials List: dSLR or Mirrorless camera with a flash hot-shoe on top.
