Portrait : Marc Hauser

Marc Hauser’s solo exhibition; Portrait begins September 01, 2016 at The Gallery Upstairs @ Bob Korn Imaging. The opening reception reception is Thursday, September 08, 6-8pm. It is free and open to the public.

Photographer Marc Hauser believes our stories are who we are. He is known for telling the stories of his subjects through the portait. Hauser shoots a range of cameras; 120, 4×5, and a 20 x 24 Polaroid camera, which there are only 02 of.

Hauser’s photographic expertise started as a 13-year-old freshman at New Trier High School, when the Wilmette native launched his boyhood hobby into adulthood with an apprenticeship under Playboy-contributing photographer Stan Malinowski. From there, notable assignments began to sprout. Marc\\\’s style aims to capture subjects in their natural state, making sure his subjects feel comfortable. Trust is an essential part of the process for Hauser, he believes it is all about giving and the subject giving back.

This approach to portraiture has earned Marc more than 100 awards, including Clios and a Grammy. He has many books of his work published. Hauser has worked with Rolling Stone, PepsiCo, Arista Records, and Microsoft, he has photographed well- known figures such as Aaron Copland, Julia Roberts, Mariel Hemingway, Michael Jordan, Dr. Timothy Leary, Sophia Loren, Woody Allen, and John Waters.

This exhibit is a diverse range portraits which include Yo-Yo Ma, Patti Smith, Evel Knievel, a dresser for the Queen of England, and one of the hundreds of children Hauser opens his studio up to every year for Halloween. All of them will draw the viewer in through their eyes and the integrity of the work.

The exhibit will be up until October 16.
