“Music is life itself.” – Louis Armstrong. This special concert, sponsored by the Berta Walker Gallery of Provincetown, will feature John Thomas and Craig Combs (piano), Frederick Jodry (organ), Trish LaRose (vocals), Ken Field (saxophone) and Eric Maul (flute).
This curated event is the centerpiece of our 25th concert season, created and presented in association with Berta Walker Gallery – our first business sponsor – and Berta Walker, our earliest and most consistent advocate of Great Music on Sundays @5.
Painters such as Whistler, Klee, Mondrian, Matisse and Kandinsky used music to create their iconic works. Musicians have been inspired to compose legendary music based on paintings by Van Gogh, da Vinci, Warhol, Botticelli, Kahlo, Hokusai, Seurat and more. Walter Pater wrote in 1877, “all art constantly aspires toward the condition of music.” And music itself IS art. This truly will be a one-time music event to remember and savor. Celebrate with us!
General admission is $25, $20 seniors, $50 limited priority seating, ages 12 & under free. All concerts are handicapped accessible. Tickets are available at the door or tickets may be purchased online ahead of time at https://gmsat5MusicIsArt.brownpapertickets.com
