Mosaic Garden Ball Workshop, with Carrie Fradkin 

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on August 1 through August 4 from 12-3pm.

This 4-day workshop is geared toward beginners who want to learn about basic techniques, tools and materials involved in creating light weight mosaic garden balls. This class covers cutting, proper adhesives, substrates, design/layout, and grouting. We will be using a styrofoam (extruded polystyrene foam) or beach ball base to create our garden art. Students will complete one project during the class. Instructor will supply drawing materials for sketching out design, base, different types of tesserae (mosaic tile), grout, adhesive and the use of tools. Students should bring safety glasses (unless they already wear glasses, but still advised) and paper towels, Students are encouraged to experiment and begin to discover the possibilities of mosaic. No experience is necessary.
