The Sandwich Arts Alliance announces its first Zoom production, “Made in Heaven”, a 12-minute live presentation about love and racial prejudice in the afterlife by Cape Cod playwright Candace Perry. Watch free on Zoom Friday evening, October 23rd at 7 pm. The play will be followed by an optional, interactive talkback with the actors, director and playwright, along with a panel of community leaders and representatives including Provincetown actor Fred Biddle; Episcopal priest and former TV news producer Rev. Margot Critchfield; and actor and active member of Artpeace Sallie Tighe. Also on the panel is Daniela Gil Veras, a Sandwich High School 2020 graduate, musician, and theater student who along with several classmates raised the issues of racism and bias in the schools and curriculum with the Superintendent. The discussion, moderated by Cathy Ode, will focus on playwrighting and performance in the age of the coronavirus. Additional topics will include the role theater might play in anti-racist work and how white privilege influences the arts.
