Juventas Summer Series Presents “Songs of Our City,” A Free Live Stream Concert

Sunday, August 16, at 3pm. Featuring performances by Juventas pianist and founding member Julia Scott Carey and soprano Kelley Hollis. The Summer Series builds on the success of the ensemble’s popular Stay Home with Juventas series which premiered this spring at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown and reached an audience of over 12,000 people across the world. Songs of Our City will feature art songs by contemporary and historical Boston composers. The program includes songs by the “Boston Six,” a social group of composers who worked together in the early 20th century, among them Amy Marcy Beach and George Whitefield Chadwick. Also included are works by Leonard Bernstein, Michele Caniato, Oliver Caplan, Florence Price, and Kathryn Salfelder.
