Jazz Talk: Journey Through a Women's Evolution in Jazz with Bonnie Johnson

Jazz historian Bonnie Johnson, producer and on-air host of Colors Of Jazz, a weekly program on 90.5 WICN Public Radio, will explore the evolution of women in jazz.

Scheduled for Mother’s Day, Johnson will honor the women of jazz and offer a multi-media exploration into how the role of women in jazz as instrumentalists, and bandleaders has shifted. Drawing on artist interviews, recorded music, live performance, and research, she will discuss the movement toward carrying the legacy of jazz to a more equitable future.
