A great introductory class for those looking to learn the wheel.
Students will learn about the materials and processes involved in creating a basic cylinder and bowl form on the Potter’s wheel. and firing. The basic skills of wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, glazing and firing will be covered along with a vocabulary with which to understand them. There will be demonstrations followed by lots of time to practice. Patience, practice and perseverance—the three P's—will be key to enjoying working on the Potter’s Wheel.

Holly Heaslip, B.S. Art Education, M.F.A., has worked in clay for over 45 years and continues to find magic in the process. Inspired by students, she has taught at Rochester Institute of Technology, The Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and Art Park in N.Y. State. She also works as the on-site program coordinator for The New England Craft Program at Snow Farm. Teaching Tai Chi is another of Holly’s passions.
