Hand Building in clay for the Advanced Beginner

“Once you have the basic skills in hand building, it’s time to challenge yourself with that project you’ve always wanted to do, or maybe it’s time to just let your imagination run wild,” says Neil. “I’ll be there to work with you on the design – we’ll probably make a few maquettes (clay sketches) to ensure that the final piece is what you want – and then to help you with the technical side of creating your piece. We’ll be able to build on your foundation of knowledge with some more advanced techniques, so you are always learning.”

A materials fee of $30 covers clay and firing and all tools will be provided. Students are welcome to bring any favorite tools they use.
