Elinor Freedman - Featured Artist Exhibit

Elinor Freedman will be the Featured Artist at Eastwind Gallery in Orleans from
July 21 through July 25. Her art is inspired by the power of the landscape as her
creative process is driven by reflection of life on Cape Cod and vivid memories of
recent warm winter sojourns to Puerto Rico, Mexico and Barbados. Ellie works
primarily in pastel, especially drawn to the vibrancy and immediacy of the
medium. Using soft pastel on sanded papers or textured boards with acrylic or
watercolor underpaintings, Ellie’s work elicits a range of effects and emotions.
She describes her inspiration in these turbulent times as coming from an undying
belief in our will to reflect, survive, and prevail and using her art as a means of
expression.
Ellie is a juried Master Artist at the Cape Cod Art Center, a juried member of the
National Association of Women Artists, and an associate member of the Pastel
Society of America, as well as a member of the Yarmouth Art Guild, Art
Collaborative of Wakefield, MA, and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod for
which she has served as a board member and annually coordinates a scholarship
program for Cape and Island students who aspire to careers in the arts. Ellie also
serves as a docent and co-facilitator of docent training at the Cape Cod Museum
of Art where she has had the opportunity to collaborate with museum docents to
curate exhibits. Meet the artist in the gallery on Saturday, July 25 from 11:00-
4:00.
Eastwind Gallery is a cooperative gallery and working studio located downstairs
between Watson’s Men’s Apparel & Gallant Jewelry in the heart of the Orleans
Cultural District. Enter from Main St. or Main St. Square where free parking is
