Book Signing/Lecture: In the Wake of the Mayflower

Thursday, July 8, 2021, 5:30-7:00 pm, at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum (135 South Street, Hyannis).

Join us for our first in-person event since 2020! In commemoration of the 400 years since the Mayflower landed on Cape Cod, In the Wake of the Mayflower covers the arrival of the Pilgrims, their relationship with the native Wampanoag people, and the growth of the Cape’s 15 towns. The lecture will be held in our classroom (no social distancing), followed by the book signing on our patio.

Karen Rinaldo is a renowned artist whose work has been featured in textbooks, news shows, and New England magazines.  A visual historian, her “First Thanksgiving 1621” painting was unveiled in a ceremony at Pilgrim Hall Museum and hung at Plimoth Plantation for 20 years.  It is on exhibit this year at the Museums on the Green in Falmouth.

Kevin M. Doyle is a writer and lecturer on historic places and events. His curiosity has inspired him to look for events that may be fading from public memory but deserve to be recalled by locals and visitors alike.
