A Night of Sizzling Hot Latin Jazz

Brazilian pianist FABIANO De CASTRO and Cape pianist MIKE GARVAN will join forces for an evening of Latin jazz, with Ron Ormsby on bass and Dave Scandurra on drums and percussion. Fabiano is a staple in the jazz community of Sao Paulo as well as a regular guest in concerts throughout Brazil. With two popular CDs under his belt, Fabiano won the top award in the New Talent of Jazz 2013 and has played in festivals across Brazil as well as in many venues in North America. He has also performed songs from his most recent álbum “Lá do Alto do Morro” in many of the top jazz festivals in Brazil, including: Vijazz e Blues; Savassi Festival; Rio das Ostras Jazz Festival; Ibitipoca Jazz Festival; Ilha de Toque Toque Jazz Festival Mike has been on the Cape jazz scene since the 1970s with stints in the Boston Jazz Quartet and Ted Casher Quintet. Together, Mike and Fabiano will present a mix of traditional Brazilian compositions and originals, playing in concert on two pianos.
