Monomoy Theatre presents this classic American musical about cowboys, confidence and courtship, based on The Rainmaker and featuring a lively score from the creators of The Fantasticks.
Based on the hit play and movie The Rainmaker, this musical focuses on Lizzie Curry, a single woman living with her father and brothers in a small southwestern town in the middle of a town besieged by a drought in 1936. Just when Lizzie has given up on her chances of romance, a newcomer named Starbuck saunters into town, claiming he possesses the power to bring rain. Lizzie doubts his intentions, believing him to be merely a con man, but could he actually be everything she’s been looking for?
