Studied Fine Art at Central Connecticut State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in art education and taught art in the Windsor Public School system for ten years.   During summers she would return to Provincetown to paint and took up residency in the “studio barn” at the Fine Arts Work Center.   After studying architecture and engaging in the practice of public service law, Elaine moved and returned to Cape Cod to paint full time.   She works primarily in oils, using cold wax medium to blur the lines and values, utilizing experimental approaches.   Her work is focused on capturing atmospheric energy and ever changing light of Cape Cod, creating expressionistic and abstract landscapes, playing and stretching the subtleties of value, color, temperature and textures.   She conducts classes and workshops, encouraging and supporting others to pursue their artistic vision, and finding their creative spirit.   She is a member of the Provincetown Art Association Museum (PAAM), Cultural Center of Cape Cod, Cape Cod Museum of Art, Cotuit Center for the Arts, Creative Arts Center in Chatham and a juried artist member at the Cape Cod Art Center.
