Located in the seaside village of Cotuit, Chapman Art Gallery is an airy space where wide-board floors and exposed beams testify to its early life as a late 18th-century barn. But artworks in a lively cross-section of styles represent contemporary talents both emerging and established. An unpretentious place that celebrates artistic excellence, the gallery represents Sam Barber, Jill Bates, Peter Coes, Karen Crocker, William R. Davis, Jason Eldredge, Jim Freeheart, Carole Chisholm Garvey, Kevin King, Theodore Ladd, Susan O’Brien McLean, Mary Moquin, Kay Ritter and Odin Smith. The gallery also features paintings by famed Cape folk artist Ralph Cahoon and original prints by Pop Art pioneer Jim Dine from private collections. Frequent special exhibitions mean there’s always something new to see.
