Falmouth Chorale, led by John Yankee, presents Mozart’s magnificent Requiem and a Bach cantata, with orchestra and soloists.
The Falmouth Chorale, led by Artistic Director John Yankee, presents “Mozart Requiem.” The Chorale and its Chamber Singers will be joined by orchestra and soloists for a concert that includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final magnificent work and selections from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata, BWV 147.
The Chorale will perform Mozart’s unfinished Requiem Mass in D minor, K.626, in its traditional form, as completed by his student Franz Xaver Sussmayr after Mozart’s unexpected death at age 35. To begin the program, Bach’s Cantata will be sung by the Falmouth Chorale Chamber Singers, with featured soloists, ending in a four-part chorale that has come to be known popularly as Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.
John Murelle will provide a lecture about the program starting forty-five minutes prior to each performance.
Tickets for adults are $25 in advance, $30 at the door; $5 for students.
Advance tickets paid by cash or check are also available from members of the Chorale and at Eight Cousins Books in Falmouth, Uncle Bill’s Country Store in North Falmouth, Market Street Bookshop in Mashpee Commons and Titcomb’s Book Shop in East Sandwich.
