About the playwright:

Robert David Cohen was a Social Worker for forty-two years. When he retired to Wellfleet in 2012, he began writing plays as part of the Provincetown Theater’s Playwright’s Lab. He had eight one act plays produced at various Theater Festivals in Provincetown. He also was a stage hand and stage manager and produced and directed in various productions at Provincetown Theater, WOMR, and the Provincetown Library. He also acted in the Provincetown Theater’s production of Clifford Odets’ Waiting for Lefty, directed by Judy Israel. Which Way is Heaven is his first three act play.

About the cast:

Roland L. Bessette is a retired lawyer who specialized in the defense of medical malpractice and employment matters. He teaches employment law at Penn State University. Roland has written several books, including two about Ernest Hemingway and a biography of Mario Lanza. He was born in Fall River, lived and worked in Detroit during its heyday and through its decline, and now resides in Mashpee with his wife, Elaine. His experience with acting/public presentations comes from hundreds of trials, many public speaking engagements and a stint as a sportscaster with AFRTS.

Karen North Wells, owner of The Underground Art Gallery in Brewster is a wanna-be actor. At St. Petersburg High School she was in all the plays, Oklahoma, Carousel, The Merry Widow and Our Town and then trying little theater after college. Fifty years later she acted in the Provincetown Theater 24-Hour play productions in 2018. Her career has taken her in a different direction working as a full-time artist on Cape Cod for over thirty years.

Jennifer Stratton has been a Cape Cod resident for the past 22 years. She is a visual artist, musician and creative/expressive arts educator. Presently she works as the Art Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod in Mashpee. During the past few years she has been dabbling in the theater arts through her participation with the New Classics Company Improv group in Hyannis and was recently in a production of Macbeth, also put on by this company. Last year she was in the Vagina Monolouges presented through the Tilden Arts Center at 4 C’s. She is very excited to be part of this staged reading of Bob Cohen’s plays.
