Cross Rip Gallery artist Alla Zbinovsky will talk about the creation process and the symbolism of Russian Icons.
As part of our "Surprise Package" Exhibit, Cross Rip Gallery will be displaying Russian Icons painted in the Byzantine tradition by artist Alla Zbinovsky. You may have seen her semi-abstract work in a variety of mediums such as encaustics and oils, but she has also been studying the art of icon writing for many years and was recently in Russia furthering her knowledge of this ancient art.
Although most of the icons are not for sale, we think that you will enjoy seeing and learning more about their symbolism and the process of making them, including how they have influenced modern artists such as Modigliani.
Please join us for an Art Salon with Alla Zbinovsky on Saturday, December 8th, 2 pm-4 pm. Seating is limited, so please call (508)432-1130 for reservations. Refreshments will be served.
