A satire of the Golden Age of Radio designed to recreate the feel of an evening of old-time radio programs.
Directed by Toby Wilson, “Radio Ridiculous” is Orloff’s comic homage to the serialized radio format of the 1930’s and 40’s. The trio of shows in "Radio Ridiculous" parody three styles of classic radio programs. “Sorry You’ve Got My Wrong Number”, a satire of radio suspense programs, “The Wacko Brothers”, a send-up reminiscent of the Marx Brothers/Abbot & Costello comedy teams, and “A Tale of Two Miserables”, a condensed classic mash-up of the works of Victor Hugo and Charles Dickens. Orloff's one-acts have had over 1700 productions on six of the seven continents, plus a staged reading in Antarctica. Seven of his one-acts have been published in the annual Best American Short Plays series.
“Radio Ridiculous” is to be presented as a live broadcast set in a 1940’s period radio studio, with actors playing over 70 vocal characters and a large array of studio sound effects. The cast includes Tom Crutchfield, Janet Geist-Moore, Barry Lew, Stephen Ross, Leigh Wilson, and Cleo Zani.
Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for students and are available at the door by cash or check only.
