The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents “Drawing and Painting from Nature” with local artist and art educator Eve Aspinwall.
Drawing and painting from nature are relaxing and uplifting pursuits which connect contemplation, inspiration and personal growth in important ways. This course is for adults interested in this combination of nature, art and expression. Basic drawing tools, materials and techniques will be demonstrated and students may also work with color media of their choice, including watercolor, color pencils, pastel and acrylic. We will spend a part of each class looking at examples of artists’ various methods of creating images inspired by nature.
Working from natural objects and still-life arrangements, each student will be encouraged to find their individual mode of expression, from realism to abstraction. Ample one on one attention provided as well as group critiques. Beginners and all levels welcome.
For the first class bring 2B pencils, soft vine charcoal, a kneaded eraser and a 9x12 (or larger) good quality sketchbook.
