Sunday Concert: Stephanie Miele

Enjoy well-known and lesser known songs about love by Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Kander and Ebb, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and more.

Stephanie Miele lives in Falmouth and currently works as a piano technician tuning pianos. She graduated from the High School of Performing Arts in New York City (popularized in the movie and television show Fame) and obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boston University and Bridgewater State University. For 17 years, she was a music teacher in the Brockton school system and a librarian for 4 years at the Burkland School in Middleborough. She has sung with the Handel and Hayden Society and the Wintersauce Chorale in Boston, and has been active in community theater, performing in a wide range of musical roles such as Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Eve in “The Apple Tree,” and Agnus Gooch in Mame. Stephanie is an avid fan of Broadway musicals and has given solo concerts interpreting the music of composers Jerry Herman and Richard Rodgers and the songs made famous by Ethel Merman, Mary Martin, and Judy Garland. Locally, she has been a guest soloist with the Falmouth Chorale and has appeared at the Cahoon Museum, Highfield Hall and Gardens, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and the Falmouth Historical Society along with libraries, women’s clubs, and charitable organizations throughout the Cape. Most recently, she performed a sold-out and extended program of the music of Rodgers, Hart, and Hammerstein in the Black Box at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. Stephanie lives with her husband, Lenny, a retired English teacher.

After graduating from UMass Lowell with performance degrees in piano and trombone, Roy Campbell toured as principal trombonist with Milton Berle in a two-year vaudeville review.  Returning to Boston, he worked as trombonist with Sarah Caldwell’s “Boston Opera Company” and as house trombonist for the Colonial Theater, South Shore Music Circus, and the Cape Cod Melody Tent. Roy has also performed at the Shubert and Wang Theaters and with the Boston Pops “Adventures in Music” concerts.  Roy has taught at Brown University, Norwood High School, and South Shore Conservatory. He currently teaches at the Cape Cod Conservatory and is professor of music at Bridgewater State University. Roy has directed shows at Monomoy Theater in Chatham and Harwich Jr. Theater, and was conductor and director of bands at Bridgewater State University.

This concert will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.  Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
