Your child will learn the basic hand-building techniques: pinching, coiling, and slab-building.  Each student will create a covered vessel by combining two of the three techniques.  Everyone will use the slab roller, patters, scratching and scoring, tools, and have the opportunity to make a three-dimensional piece of art.  Participants will also learn about the firing process of clay, some basic vocabulary, and the proper storage.  At the end of the second day everyone will have an understanding of the basic hand-building techniques. The third class on Monday, July 17 will be just one hour long, the students will glaze their pieces for the final firing. Vessels will be available for pick up after final firing. All materials and firing fees included.
