The Boxcar Lilies bring heavenly harmonies to the Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Presented by Cultural Center of Cape Cod at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

The Lilies have brought their uniquely warm sound and charming stage presence to venues up and down the Eastern seaboard including the Iron Horse Music Hall, Caffe Lena, and Philadelphia’s Tin Angel. It’s a sound that's led to numerous opportunities including being selected for an official showcase at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis and performing at the 2014 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival as the #1 Most Wanted Emerging Artist. Their 2015 album release Knockout Rose debuted at #5 on the International Folk DJ album charts this past October.

The Boxcar Lilies are Jenny Goodspeed (electric bass, guitar) and Stephanie Marshall (washboard, guitar). Original band member Katie Clarke retired from the group in December of 2015. In her stead, award-winning singer-songwriter Susan Cattaneo will lend her powerful voice to the band’s renowned three-part harmonies.

Cattaneo is a Boston artist who combines vivid storytelling with a modern songwriter’s spin. For more than 15 years, she has taught songwriting at the Berklee College of Music and in the past two years alone, Cattaneo has been a finalist in the Kerrville New Folk Competition, the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, the International Acoustic Music Awards, the Independent Music Awards, and the USA Songwriting Competition.

Accompanying the Lilies on Dobro, mandolin, and guitar that evening will be celebrated sideman Jim Henry (Mary Chapin Carpenter, Eliza Gilkyson).
