Explore movement in art through the creation of mobiles, spinning tops and thaumatropes an early form of animation and example of a persistence of vision.
We will use Papier-mâché, paint, and simple sculpture methods to create Alexander Calder inspired mobiles, optical color mixing spinning tops, and a two sided animation. Playful color adds fun to the moving sculptures, with plenty of room for creativity.
