This course is recommended for a greater understanding of the Irish literary landscape, exploring the literature of Ireland from its antiquity to the present. It will give you an intense overview of key literary eras and genres, a time line of iconic literature that will leave you with the knowledge and thirst to continue exploring and reading on your own. Some of the works we will touch on: mythological tales, folklore, famine literature, journals of the Western Island of the Great Blasket and the Aran Islands, poetry, drama, and fiction.
