The Art of Upcycling: From Trash to Treasure - Recent Works by Carol Flax

Carol layers cut papers in a way that mimics brushstrokes resulting in a “painterly” look which reference the natural shapes and movement in the landscapes or objects they depict. When viewed up close the art may appear quite abstract or impressionistic, but upon stepping back reveals a great degree of its two-dimensionality.

An Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, August 10th from 5-7pm. The artist will be present to meet and discuss her techniques for creating one-of-a-kind Cut Paper Mosaics entirely with reclaimed papers. There will also be a Meet The Artist and Demonstration on Sunday, September 3rd.
