Sailors’ Valentines A Lecture with artist Gregg Roberts

Cape Cod native and Sailors’ Valentines award winning artist, Gregg Roberts, is a singer, poet and self-taught artisan.  Gregg’s sailors’ valentines are done in the rustic style originally attributed to the craft. Working in a restored vintage carriage house on Main Street in Cotuit, he lays out shells of various sizes, shapes and colors in a design contained within a hand-crafted mahogany box. The box is most often eight-sided and he frequently incorporates sailor’s knots in his designs as the early versions would have had.

Join Gregg as he sits before his stunning Naturescape Gallery exhibit and explains and demonstrates the ancient craft of Sailors’ Valentines.
