Looking for a lift? The Cape Cod Concert Band will pick you up—with Reindeer & Planes, Camels & Trains. This entertaining salute to holiday transport features a world premiere by Cape composer, Michael Donovan.

“I’ve always loved trains and the train-inspired music of the American songbook,” says Yarmouth resident Michael Donovan. “Whistle Stop Junctionis the culmination of two lifelong passions.” The piece includes plenty of rail-related favorites, including Chattanooga Choo Choo, Night Train, I’ve Been Working on the Railroad and Take the A Train.“There are train whistles, too,” adds Donovan.

Whistle Stop Junction takes care of the trains in the title, but where are the reindeer, camels and planes? Sharing the program are Of Camels and Kings, Highlights from Disney’s Planes, American Riversongs, and The Black Horse Troop. Concertgoers will take a quick trip into space via Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. But no worries: Leroy Anderson’s lively and lovable Sleigh Ride will deliver everyone home in time for the holidays.
