Taught by instructor Sue Simon, this class will explore different types of lighting, composition, and backgrounds, and develop the student’s ability to visualize macro and table top shots that surprise the viewer.
Students will spend the first part of the day in the classroom learning the technical and compositional skills necessary to create macro and tabletop shots. Later in the day we'll break out the cameras and use objects, produce, flowers, and a variety of lighting to practice the skills learned.
Bring the camera that you like to use, a tripod if you have one, lunch, and your creativity. Come see the world up close and in detail!

Susan Simon spent nearly forty years teaching middle school English and American history, most of it in Barnstable. She credits her middle school students with developing her sense of humor, skill at thinking on her feet, and her ability to refrain from taking herself too seriously. Now primarily a fine art photographer, Susan’s work has been exhibited at the Cape Cod Art Center where she is a juried member, at Cotuit Center for the Arts, the Creative Arts Center in Chatham, The Plymouth Center for the Arts, and at the Griffin Museum of Photography. Her work has also been exhibited at the Cahoon Museum of American Art, and the Moose Hill Audubon Gallery in Sharon.
