Landscape, Pure and Simple with John Clayton

Join John Clayton for this plein air workshop in and around beautiful Provincetown. Beginner to advanced artists will create dynamic paintings that express their own creative, solid expression. John’s no-nonsense approach covers all elements of plein air painting including step-by-step instruction on light, shade, composition, design and color. Demonstrations illustrate the key elements making his paintings successful and exciting.

John Clayton is a plein air painter based in Provincetown. He studied in New York at the Art Students League and the National Academy School, where he won the Mrs. Robert Forbes Scholarship, The Arthur & Melville Phillips Scholarship, and an honorable mention from the Academy of Fine Art exhibition in 1998. He also studied at the Cape Cod School of Art, where he developed an appreciation for the work and teaching of Charles Hawthorne. In 2000 he was featured in PAAM’s Emerging Artist exhibition, juried by Elisabeth Pearl. Clayton’s work can be found in Provincetown at the Egeli Gallery. www.johnclaytonstudio.com
