This workshop, lead by artist Andrew K. Howard, is open to all artists, at all levels, in all media. It will meet on March 3, 10, and 17. One of the most difficult challenges faced by artists in all media, is developing a visual identity. We would like to create a body of work that expresses something abut ourselves, and we become increasingly less satisfied when we create a work of art that is technically satisfying but somehow feels devoid of a personal connection. This three part workshop is designed to help you better understand your artistic motivation, develop a point of departure for the creation of your artwork, and to help you verbalize your artistic concerns. This will be accomplished through critique, thorough analysis of your work through portfolio review, and through learning to write a concept statement. Be prepared for a lively exchange of ideas and be open to new ways of thinking about art making. To register for this workshop, call 508-540-3304 or visit the Falmouth Art Center website at http://www.falmouthart.org .
