A SPECIAL DISPLAY: Russian Icons by ALLA ZBINOVSKY
As part of our “Surprise Package” Exhibit, we will be displaying Russian Icons painted in the Byzantine tradition by Cross Rip Gallery artist Alla Zbinovsky. You have seen her semi-abstract work in a variety of mediums such as encaustics and oils, but she has also been studying the art of icon writing for many years and was recently in Russia furthering her knowledge of this ancient art.
Although most of the icons are not for sale, we think that you will enjoy seeing and learning more about their symbolism and the process of making them, including how they have influenced modern artists such as Modigliani.
