Creative nonfiction has become one of the most popular genres today, with books as diverse as Midnight in the Garden of Good Evil, The Perfect Storm, The Devil in the White City and The River of Doubt all becoming bestsellers.

William J. Mann’s narrative nonfiction history Tinseltown: Murder, Morphine and Madness at the Dawn of Hollywood, won the Edgar Award for Best Fact Crime and is being made into a TV series for FX. His most recent, The Wars of the Roosevelts, was also written as narrative nonfiction.
