Greek Goddess of Comedy Ellen Karis

Flapjack Comedy Productions and St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Cape Cod presents a night of comedy featuring the “Greek Goddess of Comedy” Ellen Karis. The New York City-based comedian has performed alongside such comics as Drew Cary Jimmy “JJ” Walker, and Sebastian Maniscalco. She is also an accomplished actress, having appeared in Tina Fey’s “Sisters”, “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart, and several popular web series including “What Exit?” and “Living in Exile.” 

Her stand-up revolves around her every day life, including her marriage and family, trying to make it in show business, her addiction to sweets, and the absurdities of the ever-changing pop culture, youth-obsessed world we live in. Ellen enjoys acclaim and popularity in the Greek-American community as she is one of the few Greek female stand-up comedians performing today with her hit show “Greek Chicks Rule” also available on DVD.

Karis started her career as a CPA with an MBA in finance, parlaying her quick wit and job experience on Wall Street to become a political humorist on many of the Fox News Channel and Current TV shows. She is also a frequent guest on talk radio and Sirius XM. After co-hosting an internet radio show for several years, she now has her own live weekly radio show “Karis Comedy Corner” on BBOXRadio.com.

The show will also feature Cape Cod’s own Preston Simpson, a stand-up comic who has been featured on the “Late Show with David Letterman”, “As the World Turns”, CBS and FOX. 

Tickets for the event are $35 per person in advance and $40 at the door, and include mezedekia (Greek appetizers). There will be a cash bar featuring beer and wine as well as a 50/50 raffle.
