Gain a hands-on, working knowledge of the logistics and organization at a century-old New England art museum, art association, and museum school. Learn general office skills and experience working both as a team and independently in a non-profit organization on Cape Cod. The PAAM internship is based in the Museum School, providing support for the summer workshop program with the opportunity to learn about the organization overall.

Daily tasks within the Museum School include workshop set-up and breakdown, orientation, and teacher support, as well as set-up and breakdown of events in the galleries of the Museum and other tasks as assigned.

Interns will balance these duties with longer term, in-depth projects that expand their knowledge of an area within the Museum. There are two options for more specifically-focused internships: Collections and Archives, and Youth Programming. These positions still fall within the general internship, and all interns will still be performing duties such as event set-up and breakdown. We are looking to fill a specific internship position in the Collections and Archives department, working one-on-one will the Archivist/Photographer and Registrar. We are also seeking a Youth Education intern, to work directly in a classroom setting for our summer children’s art sessions. Alternatively, interns may have the opportunity to explore a variety of museum areas including: special events, visitor services, collection and archives, exhibition support, promotion and marketing, and museum education.  Please specify in your cover letter if you are interested in one of these two specific positions or a broader overview experience.
